Driven Commercial Insurance Broker looking to progress into underwriting. With a knack for building strong client relationships and delivering tailored insurance policies to meet the clients needs. With the ability identifying key opportunities and securing contracts, leading to significant growth. Skilled in navigating complex insurance landscapes to provide clients with optimal coverage, ensuring both client satisfaction and business success.
I began working for Howden after being approached for the role. Howden (A-Plan when i first joined) were in the process of bringing commercial into all of their branches and i was taken on to assist starting up the Lichfield branch. At Howden we do not have call centres and we look after our clients from start to finish for all aspects of their policies including claims.
In my time here I have built a diverse portfolio of commercial clients in various sectors by offering bespoke insurance solutions following detailed analysis of the clients business to advise on all exposures and how we can suitably protect them in the event of a claim. I have assessed clients' needs for suitable insurance coverage and offered appropriate recommendations based on their individual needs. This has been both face to face and via the telephone. I have managed complex commercial insurance portfolios by negotiating with insurers and providing tailored advice. I have also provided detailed "no jargon" advice, enhancing clients' understanding of their coverage.
As a customer focused company it is important we established strong client relations for increased retention and growth. Enhance client satisfaction with prompt communication, professional service, timely and accurate renewals and a swift resolution to client queries. This has also enabled me to maximise revenue by converting enquiries into sales and drive business growth by cross selling products such as MLP, legal and terrorism where required.
Think Insurance is where my insurance career began. I was initially employed as an administrative assistant however, I quickly moved into the broker role and also wrote with delegated authority on binder through Penn underwriting. We would write many policies in house including Public Liability, Employers Liability, Property Owners, Commercial Combined, Shop & restaurant policies.
It was important within the binder to ensure i kept abreast of changes to the underwriters appetite and amendments to policy terms and ratings. We would have to select the correct endorsements based on the clients, trade, history and the information provided to ensure the quotation we were offering was suitable and fulfilled the clients needs.
Think insurance had a large Motor trade background and I would broker many fleet and motor trade policies as well as write on binder. We would also traditionally broker any policies which did not fit within the parameters of the Penn underwriting criteria.
I did have a work break from December 2016 - February 2018 this is due to the company I was working for beginning liquidation proceedings whilst I was on maternity leave. Unfortunately this meant there was not a position to return to and my partner and I were lucky enough to be in a position where I could look after the children whilst he worked.
