I have a huge amount of experience working with people in different settings.
After leaving school I was a GP receptionist for 10 years.
This enabled me to develop excellent communication skills, work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
I often experienced people in distress or who were very unwell and I was able to utilise my communication skills and also my compassion and kindness to support people and ensure that there was a positive outcome for them.
Following this role I trained as a Mental Health Nurse.
I worked in nursing for 23 years, both in ward settings and in the community.
This role further enhanced my communication skills as I was often supporting people who were very unwell or at risk of harm. I worked as a member of a team and my team working skills are excellent. This role also enabled me to develop good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise tasks and make decisions.
I am a compassionate and caring person and love being with people. I am extremely sociable and am passionate about helping people and enriching their lives.
I am dependable and reliable with excellent time keeping and also flexible.
I have excellent problem solving skills and am able to manage any situation calmly and with empathy and respect.
Having retired from the NHS I would like to transfer my skills and experience to a different setting where I can continue to work with people and make a difference to their lives and experiences but also be part of a fantastic team.
