I am a dedicated and compassionate care assistant with experience in the care sector, specifically working with residents in both residential and dementia care facilities. My background includes assisting with daily living activities, providing emotional support, and creating a safe and welcoming environment for individuals with varying degrees of care needs. I am eager to progress my career and take on new challenges in a role that allows me to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I care for. I have a strong commitment to supporting and nurturing individuals, ensuring their dignity and well-being at all times. I am looking forward to the opportunity to further develop my skills and contribute positively to a team dedicated to providing exceptional care. I am currently undertaking my Level 3 Lead adult care diploma, and although I don't finish until June, I am on the look out for opportunities for the near future.
I work as a care assistant at BUPA in a Dementia unit, where my main focus is on providing compassionate and high-quality care to residents living with cognitive impairments. I deeply understand the importance of respecting their privacy and dignity while attending to their personal care needs. I make it a point to encourage independence among the residents, offering assistance when needed—whether it’s helping them wash, dress, or providing that extra bit of support during mealtimes. I stay attentive and monitor their wellbeing closely, always on the lookout for any changes in their health. Recording their daily activities allows me to track their progress and reflect on how we can improve their care plans. Engaging residents in daily activities is essential to me, as I want each person to feel included and valued. I assist them in moving around the home in various ways, whether it’s using a hoist, wheelchair, or simply holding their hand for comfort and support. My goal is to ensure that every resident feels heard and cherished, and I'm committed to building strong connections that bring them comfort and joy.
At Cha Lounge, I served as the head chef at a brunch restaurant and bar. My responsibilities included preparing and serving meals to a high standard alongside my team. I delegated tasks to my team members during shifts and managed stock orders on a weekly basis, while also ensuring proper stock rotation. Previously, I worked at Cha Lounge as a front-of-house member, where I fulfilled both roles. When I returned, I was promoted to head chef, but I found that I missed the nurturing aspects of the care industry.
At Aspen, I worked as a care assistant on a residential unit.
