Currently volunteering with Ayrshire and Arran Bat Group since February 2025 undertaking bat surveys in buildings such as churches, hibernation surveys and tree surveys
British Bats, their Ecology and Conservation 6 week Online Course with the Bat Conservation Trust (March 2025)
Bird surveys at Lettrick Estate, Corsock, alongside ornithologist and founder of Planet Birdsong, Peter Cowdrey
Undertaking monthly Wetland Bird Surveys for the British Trust for Ornithology since September 2025, including a day training at Eglinton Country Park, Irvine
Helping at the local council day care centre for Adults with Learning Disabilities (2023 to 2025)

Volunteering with the National Trust at Culzean Castle and Country Park, working alongside Project Search, a programme for young people with disabilities to gain experience for employment (January 2018 to January 2020)
Assisting at the local Youth Club, Girvan Youth Trust; helping with projects and organisation of day trips for young women (August 2016 to September 2017)

Volunteering with Scottish Wildlife Trust undertaking bird nest box counts, tree planting and reserve maintenance (2016 to 2017)
Several volunteering days with SRUC including at Culzean Castle undertaking site maintenance, SWT Gailes reserve Irvine undertaking Insect Surveys
Residential Study Tours through the SRUC to NTS Mar Lodge, Aberdeenshire (March 2018) to conduct practical site work, surveying Grouse Lekks, setting up camera traps, smolt traps and undertaking practical work at Muir of Dinnet NNR. Also to SRUC Tyndrum site (March 2019) where we travelled to various sites including Oban to conduct a micro plastic survey, Glencoe to conduct tree surveys, Ballachulish slate quarry to discuss invasive species management of Crayfish and Tyndrum lead mine to survey the impact on adjacent waterbodies.
In 2016 to 2017 I took part in the Permaculture Design Course with the Permaculture Association. This involved exploring all aspects such as organic gardening and garden design, sustainable living in the home (water supply, electricity), growing produce, herbal remedies, sustainable communities and education.

I grew up on a smallholding in a beautiful part of rural South Scotland. It was here that my passion for wildlife, particularly birds, developed through poultry husbandry, birdwatching and just a general love for exploring the outdoors and nature.
