Lead designer in the core voice team responsible for delivering high-quality designs with meticulous attention to detail, performing design verification testing and providing detailed feedback to the team on feature functionality and configuration requirements, liaising with 3rd party vendors to conduct proof-of-concept testing and finalising design solutions. Key achievements include:

• Integration with Digital to devise the network automation of provisioning journeys for the OneVoice Global Service Portfolio.
• Designed a new DNS routing solution for the strategic Global Managed Voice (GMV) platform after performing proof-of-concept testing with PowerDNS.
• Designed a new test solution for the strategic Global Managed Voice (GMV) platform and ensured the solution was compliant with BT Security policies. Includes proof-of-concept testing with FreePBX, Kapanga Softphone and SIGMA SIP call simulator.
• Designed solutions to safeguard the GMV core voice network against unprecedented traffic load, such as mass calling events triggered by major incidents or customer outages.
• Documented the SIP capabilities of the new GMV core platform, serving as a reference point for Network-to-Network Interconnect (NNI) discussions with prospective domestic Carriers.
• Conducted Design Verification Testing (DVT) of the features/capabilities developed in one of the core voice application server of GMV, promptly identifying and reporting critical bugs.
• Designed a GUI-based capability for configuring SIP Trunks on Session Border Controllers, replacing manual CLI input to minimize configuration errors and improve operational efficiency.
• Technical lead in architecting the migration of customer’s SIP trunks from a tactical platform to the strategic platform.

Responsible for complex network security incident troubleshooting, providing problem and change support within the operational environment. Key achievements include:

• Working knowledge on Checkpoint and Cisco ASA Firewalls. - Checkpoint 4400 (R77.30, R80.10), Cisco ASA 5500-X series, Checkpoint FW deployed on VMWare ESXi, Legacy Nokia IP390.
• Provided network security expertise, technical consultancy and advice to network designers, solutions delivery teams and customers ensuring deployed network security solutions are effective and deployed to a recognized build standard.
• Carried out software upgrades, hot fix installations, interface upgrades on both Checkpoint and Cisco firewalls.
• Produced scripts and supporting documentation to allow the 1st line Ops team to undertake firewall change and new implementation activities out with core business hours.
• Replaced legacy Nokia IP390 hardware with new Checkpoint 4400 boxes in the estate.
• Lead the incident and the change team on a rota basis. As a change lead, ensured the front door change requests were allocated out to the team for scripting/QA and implementation. As an incident lead, ensured the operations queue was always under control and any priority incident received immediate attention.

Responsible for producing high level designs and conducting network verification testing.

• Produced E2E high level network design and platform design for the Auto Contact IVR platform which includes an Interconnect between BT’s global and domestic network with a 3rd party vendor – Voxeo/Aspect for advanced IVR services.
• Provided technical design on Build of Materials (BoM) and cost estimates for Insourcing Voxeo/Aspect Media platform in house to BT.
• Performed NVT for the following Global Services Product Portfolios – Skype Interconnect, Inbound Contact Global (ICg) Lite, SIP Over the Internet (SOTI), Auto Contact Global and Domestic, SIP NNI with Swisscom.

Responsible for handling Cisco’s external and internal web applications.

• Secured a GPA of 4.88 on 5 in the widely renowned Infosys Pre-induction software training (C, RDBMS, HTML and J2EE) at Mysore, India.
• Upgraded the web applications, configured Web Services Gateways (WSG), bug fixes and enhancements into Cisco’s primary database, unit testing and integration testing of the developed modules.
