Naisha Patel

As a tutoring assistant at the Kumon Nuneaton centre I worked with many pupils of various different skill-sets and abilities and, using my experience as previous Kumon student of almost 12 years, I was able to cater the tutoring experience to the individual needs of each student. As well as teaching students Maths and English skills ranging from Pre-K to advanced algebra and calculus I also worked in organisational roles helping to specifically curate homework for each student as well as marking their work to identify weaknesses in their learning. In this job i developed key communication skills with both students, their parents/ carers, my colleagues and team leaders and learned a lot about tailoring the educational program for those with Special Educational Needs. Furthermore, this job has most definitely helped with my observational skills as I, by observing learning patterns and behavioral changes in the students, could aid them with become improved versions of themselves. The job has helped me to fine-tune in on the smallest details helping me to work better overall and with an enhanced attention to detail, which I believe is a key skill in any job.
