Nader Neil Terry Rehmatullah

I have been the National Lead for Knee Surgery since March 2023. This role ensures that I reman up to date in all areas of knee surgery which significantly aids my medicolegal practice. I am continually reviewing and writing new pathways and policies when advances in knee surgery are published. I have also been involved in analysing and writing reports when fellow consultants practices require investigation.

Medico-legal Experience

I have completed the complete Cardiff Bond Solon Medico-Legal training course. I have a full medicolegal practice and undertake both personal injury and medical negligence claims focusing on trauma and elective surgery and injuries of the lower limb, especially around the knee.

Clinical Experience

I have been specialising in trauma and orthopaedic surgery since 2009 and have been a full time Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery since March 2020.

My acute practice is in the generality of orthopaedics trauma. My specific trauma interests include sports knee injuries, fractures of the lower limb especially those around the knee and hip.

My elective practice is in the treatment of knee pain, sports knee injuries, arthritis management in young and active patients and those requiring joint replacements of the knees and hips. Specifically, these involve ligament and cartilage injuries of the knee, osteotomies around the knee and joint placements of the knees and hips.

I have been the Welsh National Clinical Lead for Knee Surgery since April 2023. Also, in this role I have been asked to review other consultants practice when concerns have been raised and therefore I am used to determining safe practice and determining whether a surgeon falls outside this safe practice spectrum. It also ensures that I am up to date with the latest evidence in my areas of interest.
