Reading mentor

Oldham Sixth Form College

This is an extra offered by my college (OSFC) where we visit a high school each Wednesday and improve each child's reading age and widen their vocabulary. This is with pupils with a low reading age or they are just on their target. I worked alongside students in year 8 allowing me to work with children in a higher education provision enhancing my skills. I have been flexible with the students that I work with and offer other activities that still link to the book they are currently reading offering variation and a love for reading.
