End to end project management of audit engagements responsible for managing all areas from planning to report issuance followed by completion and archiving procedures.
Leading and supervising large teams (5+ team members) from the planning stage, identifying risk areas, developing and executing audit strategies, reviewing entity control environments and communicating with senior management, preparing and finalizing audit report, management letters and reviewing financial statements with a particular focus on quality across all areas.
Ensuring the financial statements and other reports prepared by management follows International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), UK GAAP (FRS 101 and FRS 102), corporate laws and directives issued by regulatory authorities.
Creating an inclusive culture within the audit team and providing on-the-job coaching and ensuring client request lists are sent out in a timely manner.
Evaluating the design and testing the operating effectiveness of internal controls & proposing appropriate recommendations to management and those charged with governance.
Composing technical memos for complex accounting treatments related to implementation of accounting standards, ad-hoc business transactions such as disposals, assessment of going concerns and impairment etc.
Direct reporting to Engagement Partner and Managers, providing regular and ad hoc updates and talking through approach papers on more complicated and higher risk areas.
Ensuring timely completion and submission of key deliverables to the client within set deadlines, providing any advice in relation to complex disclosures and accounting requirements and regularly updating management and setting expectations.
Liaison with client's management and relevant specialist internal teams in relation to significant matters and specialist areas in the audit; preparation of management and audit committee reports for communication of important matters to persons at appropriate level of responsibility and authority.
