Provided consultancy, project management, feasibility, business case, and business planning advice for significant public and private sector projects. Frequently served as workstream lead and client-side project manager, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and supporting decision-making from initial feasibility through procurement and project delivery. Some of my selected project experiences are listed below.

  • Sage Arena & Sage ICC, Gateshead (£350m): A major development in the North East featuring a 12,500-capacity arena, an international conference and exhibition centre, as well as hotels, bars, and restaurants. Provided commercial modelling and delivery planning advice; advised on value-engineering solutions; managed the operator procurement process, negotiated an operator deal, and agreed Heads of Terms; produced an economic impact assessment.
  • Huddersfield Cultural Heart (£262m): Part of the Huddersfield Blueprint regeneration scheme, which aims to revitalise the town centre with a new multi-purpose venue, library, museum, art gallery, food hall, and urban park. Led the initial feasibility study and options appraisal, as well as the subsequent Strategic Business Case and Outline Business Case; selected and managed a multidisciplinary project team to develop the project masterplan and submit the planning application; conducted Soft Market Testing to assess operator interest.
  • Dubai Duty Free Tennis Centre (£150m): Home of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for 30 years, with annual ATP 500 and WTA 1000 tour events; the client aimed to explore opportunities to create new facilities that meet the ATP and WTA requirements. Led extensive market research and stakeholder engagement; conducted options appraisal to identify a preferred way forward; oversaw the preparation of the Design Brief; developed a detailed business plan for the preferred option.
  • Leeds Royal Armouries Museum (£148m): Major culture-led waterfront redevelopment of the UK’s oldest museum to transform the site into an immersive, multi-use event space, focused on enhancing event and conference facilities while increasing on-site hotel capacity. Conducted a market assessment to evaluate redevelopment potential; engaged key stakeholders (Leeds City Council, DCMS, MHCLG, and WYCA) for business planning and funding advice; produced an Economic Impact Assessment; developed a Strategic Outline Case and Outline Business Cases.
  • Fort Regent, Jersey (£110m): The Government of Jersey is transforming Fort Regent into a 21st-century leisure destination by redeveloping the site into a 2,500-seat venue, a bowling alley, a cinema, and extensive, modernised indoor and outdoor activity spaces, including a skate park, basketball court, and an ice rink. Conducted demographic and financial analysis to identify key options for the site to optimise investment; developed a high-level business plan for the redevelopment, focusing on the sports, leisure, entertainment, and business events elements of the scheme.
  • Marine Lake Events Centre, Southport (£73m): A redevelopment project to replace the former Southport Theatre and Convention Centre with a state-of-the-art 1,200-seat theatre, a 2,400-capacity conference and exhibition space, and a water-and-light show on the adjacent Marine Lake. Led a comprehensive feasibility study and market assessment to undertake an options appraisal for the site; produced an Outline Business Case and supported the Council in its submission to the Towns Fund, with the Government allocating £37.5m for the project; appointed and managed a multidisciplinary team; conducted a full operator procurement process to select an operator.
