Teaching: weekly department meeting to present patients and their management plan and post operative patients and their care and what was done wrong and how to improve. was attending courses to fulfil the requirements to finish my master degree. During rotation i successfully finished my memership of royal college of surgeons.
Research: i was collecting cases for my thesis (quantitative assessment of tibio calcaneal angle and talo first metatarsal angle pre and post tendon achilles tenotomy in ponseti technique) and that was presented and approved by a panel of three professors.
In TRAUMA unit : I had the opportunity to face and manage a wide variety of complex multiple trauma cases. I was a member of the MDT trauma team, dealing with other surgical and medical specialties to deliver the best care for trauma patients. In the theatre, I learned to perform external fixators, joint dislocations reduction and ORIF of different fractures. I also had the opportunity to observe and assist my colleagues in different vascular and plastic emergency procedures like split-thickness grafts, flaps and vascular repair or bypass surgeries.
In HAND unit : I had the opportunity to assist professors in advanced surgeries including brachial plexus exploration and grafting, peripheral nerve grafting and repair, delayed tendon repairs, wrist arthroscopy, deformity correction, four-corner fusions and wrist fusions. I learned to perform direct tendon repairs, carpal tunnel and trigger finger release, and ganglion excision under supervision.
In the Pediatric Orthopedics Unit :
I assisted my professors in different procedures for management of DDH, Perth's, SCFE, CTEV, deformity corrections, scoliosis correction, syndactyly, polydactyly and brachial plexus explorations. , I was attending a weekly ponseti clinic, performing serial ponseti casting
and follow-ups .
In Foot and ankle Unit i assisted in plano valgus and Hallux valgus correction surgeries.
In spine Surgery Unit i assisted in lumbar fusion and fixation for spondylolithesis and lumbar disc prolapse and spinal canal stenosis cases.
In Pelvis and Arthroplasty Unit i assisted in Total hip and total knee replacement surgeries and pelvic fractures ORIF.
