I'm a UI designer that has the ability to design my creative ideas and then implement them with code, being involved in both the wireframing/ design and the development and testing phases of product development.
When I joined I first started creating my designs and wireframes in Figma. I was building designs for content management/ scheduling app called CanvasPro (which is now used to run all content on Piccadilly Lights). After creating my designs and having had them approved, I then used my front end development skills to create them using HTML, CSS and JS. Our team (a mix of front end and backend developers) use the Vue JS framework and I became familiar with this over the years. Vuetify library became a very helpful tool for me to create consistent and streamlined designs, however for certain components and features I wanted to make something more personal with creative freedom, so I developed my own component library in the project which gave me the freedom to create my own CSS animations without limitations. I've also helped out with designing and developing web pages/ sites for our internal studio products, this time using Nuxt and Tailwind for a more website friendly approach.
In my first couple years I primarily worked in the development team, here I enhanced my functional programming skills with JS (though still a lot weaker than my CSS/ design skills). I became familiar with using Github so I could develop and collaborate with the rest of my team. We had weekly team scrum meetings to make sure that we had a structured process and met deadlines on time. One of my main roles was to test and make sure that the app was responsive on every main browser and screen size, so I tested on multiple devices for the most accurate results.
In my most recent years I've been working in the Studio with the designers. Whilst still working on UI and web development/ design, i'm now using the Adobe suite to further improve my 2D design skills to be able to work on my projects. For example, I've created realistic mockups for LED screen setups for shopping centres (Hammerson and Landsec) using photoshop, logo's and icons using Illustrator, and the CanvasProsplashscreen using After Effects.
I worked on portals for events such as The european tour (golf). We used this software called AllowMe which helped us create forms and the logic behind the user step by step process. My main role was creating and implementing/ developing the design for these portals to fit the brand of the client, making sure that they're all bespoke and unique. To do this, I used raw html, CSS and JS.
