I managed a portfolio of 160 clients, serving as primary contact for tax return inquiries. For my clients I executed accurate tax returns for individuals and sole traders while ensuring compliance with HMRC guidelines. I also dealt with registered information on tax database to enable tracking history and maintain accurate records. In some cases I would liaised with HMRC on behalf of clients to resolve disputes and negotiate payment plans when necessary. I would often conducted one-on-one meetings with clients both face-to-face and via Teams calls to address returns and resolve queries. I would also calculate capital gains tax to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
I had a variety of responsibilities within our restaurant. I worked front of house, which involved a variety of jobs. Anything from clearing down tables, taking customers' orders via the kiosk, as well as the till. I was the point of call when customers needed help with incorrect orders. I also dealt with online orders, including deliveries. I was responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of our restaurant. I would often help out in the kitchen, packing orders or making hot drinks when we were understaffed. I made sure to collaborated with the customer care team to resolve issues, ensuring a high level of customer care.
While I was working a Saturday daytime shift at the café, I would often also work the odd Saturday night at the microbrewery for a few hours. My responsibilities included taking customers' orders, and relaying this back to the bar staff. I also dealt with cash handling, and generally kept the bar clean and tidy, making sure all customers were served in a timely manner.
My role included greeting customers, showing them to a table, and taking their order for food or drinks. I then relay this back to the kitchen staff. I would also help in the kitchen if orders were piling up; I would also make tea and coffees at the front of house, where I would take cash or card payments. Responsibilities also included clearing tables once customers had left, ready for the next customer to be seated. I would also help out with loading and unloading the dishwasher to make sure the kitchen was clear of mess, and food waste.
Also within the café, we had a sweet section which included serving children pick 'n' mix, as well as weighing and measuring the jarred sweets. When stock was running low, I would go and collect fresh items from the market so that the menu was not sold out. We also had an outdoor seating area, for which I was responsible for keeping clean and safe for all customers to use.
This job started as work experience, which then led to me getting a permanent Saturday job. I would then work full-time during school holidays, and on special occasions such as Christmas, late-night specials, or food events.
In my free time I love long dog walks in new places with coffee stops along the way. I love to bake and try new recipes, adding my own twist to things. I wont say no to a shopping trip either!
