Inner Temple PASS Scholar

  • Successful in my application to become an Inner Temple PASS (Pegasus Access and Support Scheme) Scholar for the 2025/26 academic year, following a competitive application and interview process.
  • As part of this award, I will have a mini-pupillage arranged for me and will also have access to numerous sessions throughout the academic year designed to hone my legal and advocacy skills, and contribute to my professional development.

  • Undertook an assessed mini-pupillage from 2-3 September 2025.
  • The first day was spent preparing for and undertaking an oral advocacy exercise, which was judged by Jessica Powers. Following this, there was a written advocacy exercise to be completed within a week following the completion of my mini-pupillage.
  • The final day was spent shadowing members of Chambers, namely Laura Webster (in a case concerning the will and estate of a deceased individual) and Stuart Armstrong (in an application for costs hearing). Both hearings were in the County Court at Central London.

  • I was seated in the Disputes & Investigations Department, and supervised by Patrick Hall and Kathryn Bevan.

  • Assigned to Carl Buckley and Ravinder Saimbhi. I was exposed to multiple facets of the criminal law, from human rights in a data protection case to a rape trial, witnessing examination-in-chief, cross-examination and closing submissions.
  • Also invited to observe a high-profile case in which Carl Buckley was acting as counsel for Stephen Yaxley-Lennon in an application for permission in regards to judicial review, at the Royal Courts of Justice.
