Accomplished BI Developer with over seven years of experience delivering end-to-end analytical solutions across Local Government, Housing, and private sectors. Recently evolved to focus on the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, where I architect end-to-end analytics solutions—spanning data ingestion from APIs, pipeline development, data modelling, and final report delivery.
Expert in leveraging PySpark within Notebooks and SQL within endpoints to transform complex data, while ensuring governance by establishing best-practice guardrails for Power BI within Fabric. A collaborative strategist with a proven track record of stakeholder management and a strong commitment to organisational upskilling through targeted workshops. Certified in Microsoft Power BI (PL-300), with extensive hands-on proficiency in SQL, Power Automate, and Microsoft Fabric.
• Involved in setting up guardrails for PowerBI within Fabric ecosystem. Transferred Fabric knowledge across to stakeholders as part of migration into Fabric.
• Built end to end Analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric, including importing data from APIs, building pipelines, data models and PowerBI reports.
• Comfortable using PySpark in Notebooks and SQL endpoints within Fabric.
• Optimised report performance, reducing load times from 3 minutes to 30 seconds by refining queries and implementing efficient data models.
• Integrated government APIs to automate data extraction and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
• Developed and delivered reports for various council areas, including waste management, highways, grounds maintenance, and neighborhood compliance.
• Ingested data from council and third-party databases, leveraging Power Query to set up robust data models that support insightful and actionable reports.
• Provided knowledge transfer through comprehensive user guides and hands-on training sessions for staff responsible for maintainingreports.
· Being part of a data migration from legacy systems to Azure Data Lake
for various parts of the council such as Finance,HR etc.
· One of my roles within this project was to map which fields and tables
were required to be migrated to build the existing reports within PowerBI.
· Building a data model within PowerBI connecting to tables in the Data
Lake which would then be used to build all the HR reporting. The model
included 40 tables so time was taken to get the tables to the correct
granularity, create the correct relationships and then add in the required
measures and calculated columns using DAX. Time was also spent on
creating transformations within Power Query.
· Being the go-to person for anything related to PowerBI and Data
modelling within the migration project, including upskilling other
members of the team by holding workshops.
· Working in an agile manner in two-week sprints with daily stand ups and
sprint reviews allowing for close communication with the project team and
wider business areas to accomplish much more in shorter time periods.
