I have always had a real passion for working with children, and over the years I have built up a wide range of experience in both nursery settings and within family care. From planning and leading fun, educational activities to preparing meals, maintaining safe routines, supporting social skills, and working closely with parents, I have taken on responsibilities that have allowed me to help children grow, thrive, and feel secure. Alongside my hands-on work, I have completed a variety of essential training, including Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, and Health and Safety, as well as further CPD courses to keep my knowledge up to date. These have strengthened my confidence in providing the highest standard of care and ensuring children’s safety and wellbeing at all times. What I love most is seeing the difference I can make in a child’s life, whether it’s helping them reach milestones, encouraging independence, or simply making their day brighter through play and learning. I am now looking to move back to London to continue progressing in my career, and I am excited to find a new role where I can bring my skills, dedication, and genuine love for childcare to support both children and their families.
Since becoming fully qualified and starting my new role in the nursery, I’ve really enjoyed taking on more responsibility and putting all my training into practice. I now plan and deliver daily activities that support every area of children’s development, from early education to social and emotional growth, and I love seeing their confidence grow through the activities we do together. I also take a leading role in making sure routines run smoothly, health and safety standards are met, and that every child feels secure and valued. Part of my role also involves carrying out observations, writing progress reports, and working closely with parents to share updates and support them with their child’s needs at home. I take pride in keeping the nursery organised and safe, while also working as part of a team to make sure we are always improving the care and learning we provide. I’ve also gained more experience in safeguarding, supporting children with additional needs, and managing behaviour in positive ways. What I love most is that every day in this role brings new learning opportunities for me as well as the children, and I feel proud to be part of their growth and milestones.
When I moved from London to Sheffield, I also became a live-out carer for my uncle and his partner for there two young children, aged one and three. I cared for them three days a week, usually from 7:30am until around 6:30pm, and during this time I took full responsibility for their daily routine. This included preparing their breakfasts, snacks, and dinners, as well as planning fun and engaging activities that were not only enjoyable but also educational, helping to support their learning and development. I often took them to local parks, giving them the opportunity to explore outdoors, build confidence, and enjoy active play in a safe environment. I was also available in emergencies to stay overnight, providing extra support whenever it was needed. I truly loved this role, as it gave me the chance to watch them grow, reach milestones, and become more independent, while also strengthening my own experience in childcare. It taught me how important structure and routine are, how to adapt to children’s individual needs, and how to create a safe, happy, and nurturing environment. Most of all, it reminded me how rewarding it is to be part of a child’s early years journey and how much I enjoy supporting children to thrive both at home and in everyday life.
I have always loved working with children and over the years I’ve gained a lot of experience in helping them grow, learn, and feel safe. I’ve planned and led fun, age appropriate activities, supported daily routines, and helped with lessons that encourage children’s social, physical, and cognitive development. Keeping the environment clean, organised, and safe is something I take pride in, and I enjoy making sure play areas and learning resources are always ready for the children. I also value building positive relationships, not only by encouraging children to develop good social skills and behaviour, but also by keeping parents involved with regular updates and advice when needed. Alongside this, I’ve completed essential childcare training such as Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Hygiene, and Health and Safety, as well as training in supporting children with additional needs. These skills, combined with my experience, help me create a nurturing space where children can thrive. What I love most is that every day I learn something new from the children I work with, and that constant learning makes me even more dedicated and passionate about the care I give.
