Work history

Volunteer Assistant Coach Diving

South Ayrshire Council
Ayr, South Ayrshire
02.2023 - Current

I have assisted in coaching divers in all Skills classes, offering positive feedback and encouragement. I have carried out warm-up sessions so that the children's bodies are flexible and ready for their diving lesson to minimise injuries.

I have helped to build the confidence of divers by offering individual praise and recognising progress and achievements.

I have managed behavioural challenges to reduce disruption to training sessions and helped plan next steps for divers so that they have the potential to move up a level.

I have grown in confidence during my volunteering and developed my communication skills as I have to communicate with children, coaches and sometimes parents.

Volunteer Active Schools Sports Camps

Active Schools, South Ayrshire Council
Ayr, South Ayrshire
08.2022 - Current

I have completed various placements in primary schools where I assist in coaching multi sports. I also helped at Summer and Easter holiday camps where I have taught the children how to play new sports and have encouraged them to join in, have a good time and to share and take turns. I was responsible for the children's health and safety in my group where I would encourage them to take part in the sports safely to avoid any accidents. I have completed my SCQF Level 5 in Community Sports Leadership and I have gained the confidence to work with young children and teach them new skills. I have also developed my communication skills by working with the children and liaising with coaches and sometimes parents. I have demonstrated respect, friendliness and willingness to help wherever needed.
