Summary

Experience in Contract Management with our Principle Contractor through understanding the Option A Contract and managing Early Warnings and Compensation Events inline with the STIC (Surface Transport Infrastructure Contract) Framework. I ensured the basic structure of the contract included Tender Instructions, Call-off Contract information, Project scope, works information with design drawings, and Site Information with input from the whole team from early engagement with subject matter experts.

Responsible and accountable for overseeing contract close and transition from Concept Design to Detailed Design, including organising all tendering documentation for Gallows Corner Flyover Replacement Project, by anticipating barriers and obstacles, to agreed milestones.

Extensive involvement with the procurement process and working commercial managers to complete the Concept Design Procurement Strategy for Gallows Corner including reviewing key governance and assurance arrangements and understanding different contract options. I also worked with TfL Estimating to receive an overall estimate for the project total and assessed the cost of surveys and risk. Throughout the project, I managed contractual obligations through using Asite as a communication platform.

I led the team through the Contract Management Process including Initiation, Creation/Negotiation, Approval, Execution, and Monitoring and Management.

I have experience with following NEC contracts on a number of different projects.

Leading on day-to-day project activities and governance approvals processes, such as project reporting, schedule management, and governance requirements on separate parallel projects across TfL’s Capital Assets Programme. For example, I have led on Stage Gate 5 for Kingston Bus Station and several Change Requests Forms when requesting to adapt a milestone and adding additional required scope. I have then presented the CRF’s to senior management for approval.

Gained excellent knowledge of Pathway methodology through following internal TfL governance processes which included creating and updating the Pathway Product Management Plan (PPMP) and following the Product Matrix for guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle and through different stage gates.

Experience in having responsibility and accountability of managing a small team of Engineers, Planners, and Commercial Managers as well as a project site team through leading on selected morning briefing meetings before work commenced on site. I have also managed two Project Manager Apprentices where I have developed a vital understanding of team leadership by improving communication channels to further enhance engagement and collaborative working. I have also been able to teach important TfL processes in all stages of a project to Apprentices through concept and detailed design, as well as delivery thus building relationships and influencing people at different levels around the organisation.

Being a key figure in the overall completion of Kingston Bus Station from inception to completion and having the bus station completed on time and hitting elements of a Tier 1 milestone, whilst working through challenging unprecedented external factors. I ensured the delivery of all intended benefits.

Work history

Assistant Project Manager

Transport For London
03.2023 - Current

I have covered the Project Manager role on several occasions during extended periods to lead on projects in different lifecycle stages. For example, on the OPO CCTV Project, in delivery, I worked closely with contractors to ensure the continued successes of progress on live construction sites with excellent communication skills and positive interaction with all colleagues.

Experience of assisting the Project Manager to deliver various packages of work, and assisting with the implementation of larger projects, for example, in the OPO Enabling project by managing external stakeholders on a day-to-day basis (including project sponsors and commercial managers), as well as managing, creating, and documenting all Pathway methods, and documents. I implemented a Project Management Plan to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

Experience in delivering projects efficiently, flexibly, and by solving complex issues for example, during a power project at London Trams, when the Scope was adapted significantly during delivery, by realistically re-planning baselines, and milestones whilst promoting my ideas to senior management.

I have established long term plans and activities on several projects, including the Victoria Coach Station Infrastructure project where taking a primary role in handling complex agendas was a vital process to effectively manage numerous internal teams, including sponsorship and operational teams to overcome challenging technical situations.

Apprentice Project Manager

Transport For London
04.2021 - 03.2023

As an Apprentice Project Manager, I had responsibility of managing my own projects, without direct support from a Project Manager on different placements at London Trams, Piccadilly Line Upgrade and in London Underground. This enabled me to take overall responsibility for managing both projects to time, budget, and quality through holding regular programme meetings, and cost meetings as well as engineering progress meetings.
