
I am an 18-year-old with nearly four years of experience working in my family-run café, where I developed a strong work ethic and valuable skills in customer service, communication, and business operations. I worked as a barista for three and a half years before later becoming the café’s baker, gaining experience in both front-of-house service and food preparation. These roles allowed me to build strong relationships with customers while working efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
My responsibilities included greeting customers, upselling menu items, preparing beverages, organising stock, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Over time, I developed the ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and provide personalised service that encourages customer loyalty.
Working within a small business environment also helped me recognise the influence of keeping updated with social media trends and how visual presentation could attract customers from afar. This skill taught me about the importance of future preparation with predicting new trends...or even creating the next.
Alongside this, I started my own small beauty business from home, which gave me further insight into entrepreneurship, business management, and legal responsibilities. This experience strengthened my independence and ambition to continue learning and developing new skills.
What excites me most about pursuing a career in this field is the combination of personal connection, creativity, and education. My goal is to contribute to a positive and collaborative environment where both clients and colleagues can achieve meaningful and successful outcomes.
Sales combines communication, strategy, and personal growth in a way that motivates me to turn persistence into results I enjoy connecting with people, understanding their needs, and helping them find solutions that truly benefit them
