Working for Laura Heitzman at LFH as her studio assistant has allowed the writing skills developed from my degree to flourish in a professional setting; writing applications for artist residency, personal newsletters about her work, portfolio, and website description, and product pamphlets. As an artist, her business requires a consistent social media presence and emphasis on building a solid relationship with her following and clientele. To strengthen this, I have contributed video content ideas, sales tactics, and various communication methods to secure artist residencies and build relationships with stockists. This emphasis on positive and secure client relationships has strengthened my ability to tailor effectively to certain demographics, a skill I am keen to utilise in publishing and journalism. Assuring that my stock distribution estimations are relevant to each art collection's success is a key part of my job. The art of observing and studying interest from customers, both online and at makers markets, has well equipped me to study trends, peaks of interest, and seasonal sale spikes, a skill I intend to hone in on in the publishing sector.

During my time as a bar staff member, I served customers to foster a friendly atmosphere, and assisted in training new staff to contribute to team efficiency. I managed customer disputes effectively, preserving the business reputation, and ensured time management to negate this disruption while avoiding disturbance to other customers. I handled cash transactions to ensure accurate accounting and kept records of tabs accurately, avoiding monetary discrepancies. I developed extensive knowledge of drink recipes and allergen safety to ensure a welcoming and secure experience for customers and staff. Balancing part-time work at Kro Bar with my undergraduate studies honed my time management skills, enabling me to successfully manage both academic responsibilities and personal finances."
