Summary

Experienced EEDI Consultant, Practitioner and Facilitator with over a decade's worth of expertise in creating equity across the charity sector and corporate sector and society as a whole. I have decade's worth of expertise of working with individuals and communities within community settings, the criminal justice system, mental health system and educational settings. I am passionate about creating an inclusive arts sector with an in-depth understanding of theoretical and practical anti-oppressive practice. I am extremely dedicated to implementing Equality, Equity, Diversity,Inclusion and Belonging initiatives which will create tangible, positive and lasting change within the criminal justice systems and society as a whole.

Switchback Consultant/Participation Lead

  • Providing consultancy services around recruitment of staff, support to increase participation and systems change
  • Delivering Experts By Experience workshops and supporting development of Experts By Experience board

Equal Equity Manager

  • Working in partnership with the National Youth Agency to capacity build Black and Youth practitioners of Colour into Leadership, Management and Policy
  • Planning and hosting online events, designing research, and conducting qualitative research to capture voices of practitioners and creating writing practice papers and end of project reports with recommendations to change Youth Work practice
  • Launched an incubator for 21 organizations that are from diverse backgrounds to have access to training, communities of practice and coaching by CEOs
  • Planning and delivering national conferences and embedding EEDI within the organization and providing EEDI expertise

  • Worked on a year-long project alongside the Ministry of Housing and the Memorial Commission to engage and capture the voices of bereaved families, survivors and the Grenfell community and delivered community workshops
  • Conducting research including surveys, focus groups and delivering culturally sensitive workshops across various projects on a national scale
  • Worked on a National Gallery project engaging diverse communities and young people., Developing the Community Mentoring programme and delivering intensive holistic mentoring using Choice Theory for young men released from custody utilizing the power of sport
  • Reflective practice for mentors to uphold best practice
  • Provide EDDI support to the CEO including initiatives such as recruitment process to ensure anti-oppressive practice is embedded into the organization.

  • Consulting with the British Military Cultural Specialist Defense Unit multiple time a year to advice on systemic racism, cultural competency, trauma, root causes of violence, ‘Gang's and the Criminal Justice system

  • I organized Black History Month packages for HMP Brixton and HMP YOI/ISIS and designed and delivered workshops on Masculinity and systemic racism
