Personal Statement

Personal Statement

Throughout the years’ I have worked as a dental nurse in dentistry, as a senior/team leader in the care sector, as a student nurse training, and as a qualified nurse, I have demonstrated my ability to maintain professional behaviour and a positive attitude while working in a multi-disciplinary team. I am confident that the recent vast experience that I have attained within a broad spectrum of working with people with learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge, mental health problems, autism, dementia, and physical disabilities, will compliment my academic qualifications from a practical point of view. It is my ambition to maintain my personal and professional development through research-based practice. I commit myself to company aims, objectives, and values. I display a positive approach in the way l work and contribute to the wider needs of the organisation and its stakeholders either directly or indirectly. At work l overcome difficulties, setbacks, and pressure by adopting a flexible and proactive approach to get things done, because I understand the impact of supporting and working with individuals with complex needs whilst ensuring person-centred care. I look for new developments and keep up to date with issues that impact my work.

I regard myself as a very disciplined, focused, and determined individual, and I welcome challenges. I have a mature understanding and appreciation of the General Dental Council, Care Quality Commission (CQC), and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct, which is essential to demonstrate a professional approach to clients, relatives, and members of the multi-disciplinary team. I am industrious, enthusiastic, and approachable and I appreciate constructive criticism. I value, enjoy, and take pride in mentoring, coaching, teaching, and promoting team members to use their talents and develop new skills, and l am a positive role model who meets or exceeds organisational expectations and standards. Excellent organisational, clinical, communication and supervisory skills are part of my strengths.
