For 17 years, i have worked within the care sector, starting as part of the housekeeping team, working my way towards becoming the care home manager at Bethel House in Dinas Powys.
During this time I have gained many skills, working within budgets, managing staff and most of all ensuring we give our residents the best possible care each day.
Daily we face new challenges and I enjoy dealing with and solving them, making strong informed decisions.
Working within a team, I understand the goals of the organisation and how by working together we can reach them and achieve any targets set.
Part of my role as the care home manager I am confident working alone in planning organising and ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to. Confidentiality and trust being at the forefront, to ensure all staff and residents are cared for.
I am looking to use my gained skills to take on a new dynamic challenge working within a new organisation.
During my time here I achieved my QCF Level 3 which is the enhanced health and social care qualification.
My duties would include running the daily team, over seeing medication and ensuring a high standard was provided to all residents on a daily basis.
I was able to gain skills and knowledge from some of the senior members of staff at Mountbatten, which set me in good stead to work within the care industry.
