  • During my time as a kennel hand a my role of my job was to ensured high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within kennels and surrounding areas. this included the Kennel itself as well as maintenance tasks within the property. These varied every week but were often assigned to myself due to my willingness to problem solve.
  • Often during the start of my shift I was informed of any illnesses within my section of the kennel and informed of the best way to monitor the animal health and behaviour in order to identify any signs of distress or illness. This was often a key task for myself and other staff members to ensure that the animals we were entrusted with were at the healthiest they could be. This coincides with assisting with feeding and administering medication to dogs as required. This was often a very strict system due to the penitential issues that could occur as a result, as a result a system was in introduced and managed by myself and other members of the team.
  • A key aspect of the kennel role was developing and maintaining a positive relationships with pet owners through effective communication. Often when owners would come to collect or vest their dogs it was crucial to inform them of any issues the dogs have faced and to keep them up to date with the health and condition of the dog in order to remain as a transparent as possible.
  • One key aspect of the team was the introduction of new members who were vital to the operation, as a result providing guidance and training to new kennel hands to foster a supportive work environment was a fundamental part of the kennel and was a task myself and one other member of the team was tasked with, this was done to ensure the team remained the best it could be as well as supporting one another in everyway.
  • Due to the role of the job working unconventional and extended hours during busy periods such as school holidays or Christmas time was part of the role in which I volunteered for numerous times in order to help out where it was possible.

When mi not gaming I'm scoping out my next concert date of one of my many favourite bands. I find going to concerts is my personal favourite thing to due to the experience of live music and the friendly environment it creates with other fans. The social aspects of both of my hobbies allows me to connect and build my social skills with those around me.
