  • Managed the transfer of hardware and software out of the CGI data centres into the Wolters Kluwer domain
  • Developed a software bridge using the Talend tool to alow customer to transfer data between solutions
  • Provided 3rd line support to analyse customer issues with the solution and develop effective fixes
  • Designed and developed new subsystem functionality, enhancing overall system capabilities
  • Trained as security champion to advise country teams on best practices for compliance and security

  • Joined Admiral as a consultant working on a wide variety of projects for both government and private sector clients, including
  • Design and implementation of software to self-test anti-ship missiles for a UK defence manufacturer
  • Design and implementation of software for bench testing vehicle tracking transponders for an Australian technology company
  • Porting of a 'C' based compiler to run on prototype multiprocessor hardware for a UK defence manufacturer

  • Roll out of common software platform for a UK government department, including scheduling team member access to secure sites with the customer
  • Managing a team of between 4 & 8 staff providing support for a UK banking system. Designing and managing significant changes to the various subsystems for Loans, Deposits, Foreign Exchange, Bullion Trading, Syndicated Loans as well as the underlying accounting and payment systems. Successfully migrating the system across Tandem fault-tolerant hardware with no operational impact on customers. Analysed Y2K impact and liaised with suppliers to move functionality to replacement solutions.
  • Analyse and design for a UK financial infrastructure company, designed the message flows and new infrastructure to allow UK Banks and Direct Debit Originators to co-ordinate the move of customer accounts between banks. Liaised with the various internal teams to coordinate the necessary changes and keep the customer banks fully informed of progress and their responsibilities. The system was in action for several years before being replaced by the current UK switching service.
  • Leading a design team of 10 analysts building new functionality on a fuel card system for a major international energy company
  • Running a team of 20 analysts and developers for a European financial infrastructure company building new functionality on the UK share registration system and laterly managed the 5 strong support function prior to training up and handing over to my replacement from the customers' staff.
  • Analysis of the testing requirements for the introduction of Chip and Pin technology for a Middle East banking regulator
  • Analysis, design and implementation of changes to a payment system and Identity management solution, including implementation of customer sites in Europe and the Middle East
