Work History

Kitchen Porter

The Patternmakers Arms
11.2025 - Current

Working as a kitchen porter in a pub/restaurant for the past couple of months, primarily on long Sunday shifts, has allowed me to quickly develop a strong understanding of back-of-house operations. I have gained experience maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, working efficiently under pressure during busy service periods, and supporting chefs and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth service. The role has strengthened my time management, stamina, and reliability, particularly through consistently completing long shifts to a high standard. It has also helped me build teamwork, attention to detail, and adaptability, demonstrating my ability to learn quickly and contribute effectively, despite being in the role for a relatively short period of time.

Waiter

Lorentes Darley Abbey
02.2025 - Current

Working as a food waiter in a restaurant has enabled me to develop strong customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to remain professional, composed, and effective in a fast-paced environment. I have gained experience in multitasking, prioritising tasks efficiently during busy service periods, and working collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth operations. This role has also strengthened my attention to detail, problem-solving skills when handling customer queries or complaints, and time management. Additionally, I have developed reliability, adaptability, and a strong work ethic, all while consistently delivering a high standard of service.

Warehouseman

Cosy Direct
07.2023 - 08.2025

Working as a warehouseman in the Goods In sector during the summer breaks of 2023, 2024, and 2025, I developed a strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control. This role required accuracy and attention to detail when receiving, checking, and recording incoming deliveries, as well as the ability to follow procedures, and health and safety regulations consistently. I strengthened my organisational and time-management skills by working efficiently to meet daily targets, often in a fast-paced environment. The position also enhanced my teamwork and communication skills through close collaboration with colleagues and supervisors, while the seasonal nature of the role demonstrated my reliability, adaptability, and willingness to return and contribute effectively each year.

Paperboy

Darley Abbey Village Shop
03.2022 - 11.2024

Working as a paper delivery assistant for a village shop taught me a strong sense of responsibility and self-discipline from an early age. The role required waking up very early in the morning to meet strict delivery deadlines, which helped me develop excellent time management, reliability, and punctuality. I worked independently to complete my rounds efficiently and accurately, while also building resilience and a strong work ethic through consistent early starts in all weather conditions. This experience demonstrated my commitment, trustworthiness, and ability to manage responsibilities without direct supervision.

Duke of Edinburgh (Bronze)

Completing the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award allowed me to develop a wide range of practical and personal skills through volunteering, physical activity, skill development, and an expedition. The two-day expedition strengthened my teamwork, resilience, navigation, and problem-solving skills, as well as my ability to plan, communicate, and work effectively under pressure. Through volunteering by gardening with the school chaplain, I developed a sense of responsibility, commitment, and community awareness while learning to work reliably and support others. Teaching myself guitar as my skills section required self-discipline, perseverance, and independent learning, while playing football for the physical section improved my fitness, teamwork, communication, and determination. Overall, the award helped me build confidence, time management, and a strong work ethic that I can apply to both academic and professional environments.

Football

From a young age, football has been a constant presence in my life, whether through playing or watching the game. I have been involved in both for as long as I can remember, but my commitment deepened when I moved to England in 2014. Since then, I have played Sunday League football and held a Liverpool season ticket in the Kop. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong sense of community and belonging, while also learning the importance of teamwork, discipline, loyalty, and shared identity. Football culture has therefore played a significant role in shaping my values and who I am as a person.

Music

One of my main interests outside of football is playing musical instruments. I play the guitar, piano, and drums, all of which I am self-taught in, demonstrating self-discipline, commitment, and a strong ability to learn independently. Music has always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy both practising and performing. I have taken part in two live performances: one was a spontaneous guitar performance at a pub after confidently approaching and playing alongside an existing band, and the other was an organised charity event in support of Palestine, where I sang and played guitar. These experiences have helped develop my confidence, adaptability, and performance skills in front of an audience.
