2. Day-to-Day School Management
Oversee daily operational aspects of the school, including staff cover arrangements, resource allocation, and communication with parents and carers.
Support positive behaviour management strategies and lead on resolving complex behaviour and pastoral issues.
Ensure a safe, inclusive, and well-organised learning environment that supports both staff and pupils.
3. Literacy Subject Leadership
Lead literacy across the school, with a focus on driving standards and consistency in early reading, phonics, and writing.
Oversee the implementation and monitoring of early reading and phonics provision, ensuring high-quality teaching and effective intervention.
Support the development and consistency of Key Stage 2 reading instruction and the teaching of writing across all year groups.
Design and deliver continued professional development (CPD) sessions to enhance staff confidence, subject knowledge, and pedagogy in literacy.
Monitor attainment and progress in reading and writing across all primary phases, using data and observations to identify trends and close learning gaps.
Lead the ongoing development of the reading and writing curriculum to ensure it reflects the school’s vision, promotes progression, and engages all learners.
4. Staff Development and Mentoring
Act as a mentor for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), providing guidance, feedback, and professional coaching to help them achieve excellence in their teaching practice.

I was directly responsible for teaching and learning of Year 2, 4 and 6 classes of up to 30 children. Within my role as a class teacher I was required to plan and deliver engaging lessons across a wide range of primary subjects areas. In addition to this I was also required to monitor pupil progress through the collection and scrutiny of achievement data. Whilst within this post successfully managed to secure the role of science coordinator. As part of this role I was responsible for monitoring and development of teaching, learning and assessment of science within our school. During my time as science coordinator I managed to secure our school a Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM) Gilt award through the monitoring and development of the science curriculum in our school.
I was a Year One and Reception class teacher, responsible for the teaching and learning of up to 30 children. Whilst teaching in this one form entry school, I was required to plan and deliver engaging lessons across a wide range of primary subject areas. In addition to being a class teacher I also successfully secured a role as a leader of literacy with a focus on Reading. Within this role I was responsible for the monitoring and development of teaching and learning for reading in our school.
