Personal Statement

  • I started my career in nursing in 2007, driven by a passion for acute care and a desire to make a difference in high-pressure environments. From my early days on the Acute Medical Unit, I have steadily advanced into senior leadership roles, each building on my commitment to patient safety, operational excellence, and compassionate leadership.
  • My journey has included pioneering Same Day Emergency Care at QEHB, leading stroke services during the COVID-19 pandemic, and spearheading the integration of emergency departments across two hospital sites. I have also been deeply involved in the planning and opening of the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, ensuring a safe and efficient launch of its ED in 2024.
  • Throughout my career, I’ve mentored new leaders, championed staff development, and embraced innovation—from digital systems to public engagement via social media. My work has been recognised regionally and nationally, including a Trust Award for ED Leadership and support for an award-winning public communications campaign.
  • Healthcare leadership is more than a role—it is my vocation. I bring not only experience, but vision, energy, and a relentless drive to improve care for patients and staff alike.
