I am currently working as a Casework Manager for The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), leading a team of 4 members in managing the organisation and triage of criminal cases. I am a highly organised individual who is adaptable to change and adept at problem solving, skills which are evidenced both in my team's service level agreement performance and by my personal awards. I am a great communicator with excellent administrative skills which helps me to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as prosecutors, senior management and local police forces. I am regularly called upon to deliver training to other CPS areas and management which I feel shows my expertise in the role. I am a friendly and dependable team player who enjoys a challenge and at this point in my career I am ready to commit myself to a new role.

  • Leading a team of 4 members of various seniority to triage criminal cases, ensuring all material is present for the prosecutor and dealing with any issues promptly such as police materials
  • Regular deputising into a B2 Management position.
  • Working to tight deadlines such as custody cases
  • Ensuring cases are triaged to a quality standard and charging decisions made within the 3-hour timeframe of receipt from the police
  • Implemented and delivered new processes, such as dealing with ‘in custody' cases

  • Hold monthly police and lawyer meetings face to face and via Teams and provide feedback and support to other CPS areas to promote best practice

  • Managing contact with senior prosecutors and management at milestones throughout the 90 day timeframe to ensure a charging decision is made
  • Completing a variety of written and data led excel reports both daily and monthly which form part of our area's performance reports for national HQ
  • Weekly allocation of cases to lawyers, helping them identify and prioritise their workload by highlighting the SLA and type of case e.g. child victims
  • Monitoring STL cases, liaising with police and prosecutors to ensure completion of these before the limit expires
  • Training new members of staff
  • Adept at a variety of applications we use such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, internal phone system, Case Management System (CMS).
  • Daily monitoring of the Charging teams mailbox. Ensuring all emails are actioned and responded to within 48 hours.
