Summary

After working for 35+yrs as a senior staff nurse in a busy hospital, a job which I loved and enjoyed immensely.. I have retired and have a desire to work with children.. I enjoyed both the Children’s and the Learning Disability aspects of my nurse training and would love to expand on that knowledge.. Additionally I wish to bring the experience that I have gained throughout my professional and private life on to a new role..

I have strong verbal communication skills which were an essential component of nursing especially in working with people admitted to theatre for surgery and feeling scared and vulnerable. This will assist in building productive relationships with the children in the classroom..

I am a good Record keeper and am able to implement individual care plans.

As a mother and Grandmother I have some knowledge of the curriculum..

I have some experience with children and young people with Special Education Needs both within my family and Close friend group..

I enjoy working within a team and work well both taking instruction and using my own initiative..

Finally I love children and have a great desire to help them learn and reach their potential..
