Driven Estate Agent with 31 years of experience generating profitable sales to timely completion. Working tirelessly to provide exceptional customer service throughout all buying and selling processes for high levels of customer satisfaction and continued smooth company running. I have worked through two recessions, a credit crunch and Covid19. Tougher times in the market is where opportunity to increase market share lies. Expertise will rise to the top in a more tricky market like today. A passion for the profession and being able enjoy the environment and energy that comes with it is crucial.
Working in agency is not a nine to five job, it is a lifestyle both when in the office or out socially. Emotions run high when people move home and during property transactions things can go wrong. It is how agents deal with challenges that make us stand out in this industry. To be successful one has to take the good times and the bad.
Worked for one of, if not most successful brokers in Dubai covering commercial sales and lettings. I again learned valuable new ideas and technics in dealing with property and people from all over the world.
Negotiated sales and new leases. Values ranged between at 55,000 AED per year and 3.2 million AED lease. Learning many aspect of this real estate market and completing various exams.
Sadly due to Covid19 and related lockdown an entire market was closed. Returned to UK due to lack of business in UAE at this time.
2008 I purchased, after 16 years, 25% shareholding of Dart & Partners increasing to 50% share in 2015.
Over next 10 and half years we increased our market share within area to total dominate residential and lettings market within TQ14.
During 2008, in midst of 'Credit Crisis' I felt clearly we could not simply rely on sales income. Our management portfolio needed to be built up, something we started to focus on in 2007. At that point we managed around 100 rental properties. By July 2019 we managed in excess of 350 properties. Becoming director in company gave me feeling of being re- born, in professional sense. I was able to put in practice many ideas I had for improving our brand and services. In 2015 I secured office premises in Shaldon. Aiming to target 'Fine Homes Market'.
I felt we need to push into prestige and waterside homes sector, we did.
In less than two years we moved into larger office within Shaldon and now Dart & Partners Distinctive & Waterside property sales department is leading way locally.
Further expansion was required, our market share varied at anything between 35 & 48% in sales monthly within Teignmouth & Shaldon area. I felt this percentage could not grow great deal within established area.
Action, we incorporated Pearson Ranger of Dawlish at end of 2018 and purchased Force & Sons lettings business following year. Opening office in early part of 2019 in Dawlish.
On selling my shares Dart & Partners we already sat in second place in sales agreed within Dawlish post codes. My duties covered not only being senior valuer but overseeing running of business with workload that comes with from managing staff to paying VAT. I was very hands on, undertaking daily meetings before our doors opened with team. I was not shy to work weekends and always feel that one should lead by example. To be able to be delicate is important part of leadership but one must make right decision as to whom.
Exposure to public is highly important and something I thrive in doing and enjoy. I see some business
owners who hide away leaving staff to deal with public, losing opportunities to build relationships
and create more business. I feel businesses located in smaller towns need to be part of that community.
