Work history

Self-Employed Painter and Decorator

ALS Services
01.2019 - 07.2025
  • In January of 2019, I decided to have a change of career and started sub-contracting for a small shopfitting company based in Purton as a self-employed Painter and Decorator.
  • I enjoy trying new things so this allows me to travel around the country decorating and refitting garages, army barracks and charity shops.
  • I meet tight deadlines, ensuring minimal disruption to clients' daily routines.
  • Maintain a clean workspace to ensure safety and efficiency in task completion.
  • Prep surfaces for painting to ensure smooth application and lasting results.

Team Leader, Production Operative

Associated Dental Products Kemdent
Purton, Wiltshire
04.2009 - 11.2018
  • I left a small dental factory In Purton after 9 wonderful years in November 2018.
  • My duties included operating machinery, working on a fast paced production line and packaging finished products.
  • I had to pay close attention to detail because giving the customers a quality product is very important.
  • This job also gave me a lot of experience with working under pressure as deadlines had to be met with despatching the products on time.
  • Keeping my work space clean and tidy and following the 5S procedure was a big part of my every day routine, this would make everything a lot easier and more efficient.
  • I was very lucky to get promoted to Team Leader in October of 2015, which required a lot more responsibility and putting more pressure on my team to deliver quality materials on time ready to be dispatched.
  • As part of my Team Leader role I was on the Health and Safety committee that required me to attend meetings with my manager to make sure my team are working in a safe environment.
  • I also had to work closely with the other Team Leaders to organise the staff rota and to approve staff holiday entitlement.
  • During my time working at Kemdent I enrolled in a Leadership Development Programme, which required me to give a final presentation to my course leader and managers at the end of the year, I was very happy to have passed this course as it built my confidence and understanding of what it means to be a Team Leader.

  • Set up dining tables and prepared dining rooms for service.
  • Took orders and delivered food promptly to designated tables.
  • Facilitated communication between waiters and chefs for order accuracy.
  • Provided excellent customer service to enhance guest experience.
  • Maintained cleanliness by clearing tables during and after shifts.
  • Collaborated effectively with colleagues to promote a positive work atmosphere.

Paper Round

Spar
Purton
08.2004 - 08.2005
  • For a year I was lucky enough to work for my local Spar convenience store, delivering the weekend papers.
  • I was at this time a full-time student therefore this role fit in well around my education and summer holidays.
  • The people I worked with during this time were very varied, with a range of ages, personalities and from all back grounds, which gave me a good perspective on the people I worked with, and from which I gained a lot of experience.
  • The two most important things I learnt at my time at Spar were dedication and communication; the value of time is very important, and learning a range of communication styles has been an invaluable tool to me in my personal life, as well as professionally.
