Work history

Power System Consultant Engineer

Arcadis Consulting UK
04.2021 - 08.2025
  • Involved in preparing a protection coordination and arc-flash study report as part of a series power system report studies for a large wind farm on Shetland. The work involved protection relays setting, grading and coordination studies where the site comprises 103 wind turbine generators and associated transformers, over 200 km of inter-array 33 kV cabling, and 4 grid transformers.
  • As part of the programme all protection 33kV settings are being reviewed by Arcadis. Involved in preparing a protection study report that dealt with undertaking a protection study for Kaimes GSP 33kV switchboard replacement. This includes to determine an appropriate setting of unit, overcurrent, and earth fault protection for all 33kV protection relays.

Power System Consultant Engineer

Copenhagen Offshore Partners
04.2021 - 08.2025
  • Involved in conducting harmonic studies as part of a series of power system and engineering design studies. The work includes assessing harmonic distortions by adding grid transformers, cables, wind turbine transformers and turbine generators as well as harmonic filters. DIgSILENT Power Factory was used for modelling studies.

Power System Consultant Engineer

Kirby Engineering and Construction
04.2021 - 08.2025
  • Involved in preparing a load flow and voltage regulation, and turbine transformer energisation study reports as part of a series power system report studies for a 36MW wind farm located in North Lanarkshire that connects into the Scottish Power system at 33kV. The work involved short circuit, tap settings, reactive power capability equipment loading & voltage regulation, power loss, step voltage changes studies where the site comprises 8 off 4.5MW wind turbine generators and associated transformers, over 7.6km cable.

Power System Consultant Engineer

Scottish Power Renewable
04.2021 - 08.2025
  • Involved in harmonic studies as part of a series of power system and protection and engineering design studies to look at the impact of installing a BESS at an existing windfarm site.
