I have a great understanding in caring for elderly, looking after children and being with adults who have severe mental health.
I've always been one to put other peoples needs before my own, i'm a great listener and very quick with thoughts and ideas.
Ive got great skills being in a nursery setting and an elderly setting. Im friendly, cheerful and dedicated to helping others. Im an easily approachable individual and I dont struggle building relationships with people as i think thats something very important.
Similar to my previous job
Important to the role was medication administration and personal care. However there was much more to the role, such as understanding of the client and helping them with their daily needs whether physical or moral support.
Clients would get taken to do daily activities. Activity clubs (to their ability), shopping, day trips or even just relaxing, playing games or reading.
Crucial to the job was to fulfil their needs day-to-day. Assisting them with making breakfast, lunch and dinner. Helping them with a washing load, tidying up, getting changed etc.
It was very important to understand the client, not just with daily things to do but as a person. Interaction was very important because then you get to understand how they are as people, their abilities and their behaviours.
I dealt with handovers, keeping records of everything they had done that day - food and drink consumption, medication or any accidents etc.
Assisted with mobility issues enabling easier movement around the home. Giving the client decency and ability to still do everything themselves normally.
