I am a hardworking, ambitious, and studious individual. Upon leaving school, I embarked on a beauty-therapy course in Liverpool Hugh Baird College, where I gained an NVQ in beauty therapy. Following this, I began an apprenticeship with Andrew Collenge, where I went to hairdressing college once a week, and worked in Matt Cox hairdressers as an apprentice for the other four days. In deciding to follow my dream career, I left this apprenticeship after six months and embarked on an Access to Humanities course in Liverpool City College where I studied law, criminology and history. This qualification allowed me to begin my undergraduate Bachelor of Law degree at Liverpool John Moores university.
I have always had a keen interest in law and psychology. This is what led me to pursue a career with the Law sector. In spite of the challenges around studying an intense and time-consuming course, I have always remained employed, where I am currently a shift-manager at Tesco. This role has allowed me gain excellent experience in dealing with the general public, as well as managing a group of individuals with the aim of meeting business and customer needs and standards. I have a strong work ethic, and put one-hundred per cent into everything I do.
Starting off as a part-time customer assistant at Tesco, I have risen to a step-up, which essentially means running shifts when needed to due to management sickness or holidays, to a full-time shift-manager; which is my current role. I am extremely proud of myself to take on this responsibility after finishing my university studies. My responsibilities include, but are not limited too; running shifts, managing a small team ie. delegating roles to meet business and customer needs, helping customers and dealing with customer complaints, completing cash office tasks, and manage staff absences and holiday requests to achieve consistent rota coverage.
