Work history

Coordinator

Dogs Trust
London
06.2023 - 08.2025
  • Manage communications via phone and email with vulnerable dog owners facing homelessness. Assisting them in locating dog-friendly housing and addressing veterinary bill concerns. I provide informed guidance and resolve complex cases while emphasising the importance of signposting for those we cannot support.
  • Register clients with housing confirmation for our veterinary scheme and accurately input relevant information into DTS, including verification of microchip details.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders through email and phone, primarily communicating with veterinary practices about shared clients, while also liaising with support workers and our internal veterinary team. Handle complex cases by transmitting information between veterinarians as they evaluate treatment options.
  • Process veterinary billing on a weekly basis.
  • Evaluate and respond to direct referrals on DTS from homelessness organisations. Facilitate communication with new homeless support services interested in joining the scheme and refer them to colleagues for endorsement if necessary.
  • Investigate phone and email inquiries about invoices with veterinary practices, prioritising strong relationship management with these stakeholders to ensure the continuity of our services.
  • Support colleagues in identifying suitable clients for case studies.
  • Shadowed the Senior Regional Engagement Officer in her meetings with services and attended a Women's Centre visit in Brighton to endorse them to be dog friendly.
  • SharePoint site owner - I took part in a SharePoint Site Owner day workshop and now have the skills to develop the site and support my colleagues to improve the way we work.
  • Member of the neurodiverse DT colleague network - taking part in peer support and training to better understand myself and neurodiverse colleagues around me to maintain a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • A mentor in the mentoring programme set up for Outreach.
  • Avid member of the Outreach Wellbeing Group - developing new ideas for this group such as a sunflower growing competition.
  • Ongoing training on a frequent basis - For example, The positive impact of dogs on humans and Mentoring and Stress, Vicarious Trauma and managing wellbeing with HomelessLink.

Vet Team Assistant

Dogs Trust
London
03.2022 - 06.2023
  • Oversaw administration for the Veterinary Support Fund by communicating with colleagues at rehoming centres, processing applications received throughout the week, and presenting them to a panel every Monday. Sent certificates to centres to confirm new or retrospective VSF cover.
  • Formatted SOPs and attended the SOP working group, driving processes to completion through each review stage before publishing on The Pawtal.
  • Worked in the Pharmacy two days a week, which involved checking prescriptions, liaising with colleagues regarding protocols and medications, and addressing public queries via email and phone. Created a team planner to help keep everyone on track with daily tasks.
  • Organised in-person and virtual meetings for the veterinary team, including those for RC and London vet nurses and the senior London veterinary team. Planned a 2-day meeting in Cardiff in October 2022, gaining experience in coordinating catering, travel, hotels, CPD presentations from external guests, and planning agendas. Successfully kept the meeting on schedule, receiving positive feedback from the Deputy Vet Director.
  • Identified issues with lost updates within Teams chats, which led to the creation of a newsletter on our SharePoint home page to provide general updates. Focused on driving projects such as the Pain Management Working Group.
