I have been actively involved in fundraising from a young age, supporting a variety of charitable causes My fundraising journey began in 2017 at the age of 8, when I completed the 5k Race for Life and raised £65380 for Cancer Research UK In 2023, I raised £820 by cutting and donating 12 inches of my hair to the Little Princess Trust, supporting young people battling cancer That same year, I also raised £30192 for Marie Curie by volunteering to sell daffodil pin badges with my mum In 2024, I raised £1,135 to fund a volunteer trip to Uganda, where I worked directly with children and their families, providing care packages, food, games, and support In addition, through working countless hours during the week and on weekends, I was able to save £100 of my own money to sponsor a child in Uganda, enabling them to access a full year of education These experiences have strengthened my skills in communication, organisation, and community engagement
- I hold a Level One qualification in British Sign Language (BSL), which has equipped me with a solid foundation in basic communication skills using BSL Through this certification, I have developed the ability to understand and use everyday signs, engage in simple conversations, and demonstrate awareness of the deaf community and BSL structure This qualification reflects my commitment to inclusive communication and my interest in supporting accessible environments for all individuals
I have gained valuable experience working in a busy pub and restaurant environment, where I developed strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills My role involved taking orders, serving food and drinks, handling payments, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all guests I also carried out other tasks such as pot washing, surface cleaning, and maintaining overall hygiene standards in line with health and safety regulations I was able to maintain a high level of efficiency and professionalism, ensuring smooth service and a positive customer experience even during the busiest periods This experience also strengthened my ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage customer queries in a professional and friendly manner
