I consider myself to be a dedicated employee and I have been employed by Kirklees Council for 3 years. In that time I have committed myself to learning my trade off my peers. I appreciate that I am still young but I am eager to better myself and progress within the organisation. In my time at the council I believe that have i have listened to everything that I have been told. I carry out all my tasks in a timely manner, I'm never late and my work is always completed to a very high standard. I also give great customer service and get on with all the clients I visit and work for. For my age I am a hardworking mason, who is now equipped with necessary skills and ability to complete projects both large and small. I am skilled in brick installation, repair, and restoration. I am polite and courteous and get on well with all my colleagues. I am happy working with all my colleagues and this has been proven when I have worked with many people over the last three years. I am happy to work as apart of a team or on my own. My communication skills are clear and concise, and I always take a measured approach to my work, completing all tasks to a very high standard.
I believe that working on the adaptions teams has allowed me to increase my knowledge of masonry. I am learning new skills on a daily basis and am now capable of widening doorways, installing access ramps, removing and installing lintels, step alterations and installs and wet room work. As I said earlier I learn from my more experienced colleagues and put that knowledge into practice. Working with different trades I learn all aspects of building renovation work as well as the bigger projects such as civic centre work. I believe in the time I have been at the council I have learnt and developed enough skills and knowledge to enable me to take on the surveying role.
