Volunteering Experience

Scout Leader: 09/2017 - Current

  • Volunteered as a Scout Leader from the age of 14, helping to deliver both weekly meetings and multiple weekend camps away.
  • Also volunteered at Red Rose, a week long scout camp for 2000+ participants, initially as a team member of the Evening Entertainment Team in 2022, before stepping up to Deputy Head of Evening Entertainment in 2024. This required the ability to communicate effectively with both contractors and other senior volunteers on site as well as work well under intense pressure to deliver to a tight deadline each night
  • Spent time each summer from 2021-2023 volunteering as part of the site staff at Pfadfinderdorf Zellhof, an international scout site in Austria. This involved collaborating well with team members from across Europe, communicating with groups from around the world despite potential language barriers and require the ability to adapt to and quickly pick up whichever jobs needed completing around site.
