Volunteered in taking part in multiple conferences with my university professor and local council members in highlighting the importance of the goals of Oxfordshire Council in minimizing the carbon emissions as a result of motor vehicles and the future implications and techniques the region of Oxfordshire will take to reduce emissions. The skills required were data analysis, adaptability to an ever changing focus of the topic area discussed and the presence of leadership skills in gaining awareness of techniques used by the individuals present.
Supporting primary school students in their transition to secondary education. This role required effective leadership and communication skills to monitor and be present in assisting in events set up for the students with it being important to tailor support for individual’s specific requirements. Furthermore the role required adaptability to support staff present when activities were taking place and leadership with certain activities being under my guidance as I was in the leader role.
Volunteered with the computer club to further support my school community and to develop my computer skills to be able to guide younger students in certain areas of their education alongside supervised staff. This role promoted Leadership, resilience ‘dealing with younger students’ developed my own word, excel and powerpoint proficiency which I have been able to apply throughout my school career and has served as a foundation that I have developed into my studies at university.

Member of the Green Team society at Oxford Brookes University which promotes the importance and maintenance of the local environment within the campus and the local area allowing for the upkeep and protection of wildlife areas and natural green spaces to be monitored for any litter or other waste. This provides skills such as successful communication through members within the society as well as to the general public to provide awareness of sustainability and the effects of being unaware can have on local wildlife.
