I am a quick learner and can understand the process of things quickly, I strive to do my best at anything I do and approach anything I do professionally, I enjoy the process of progression, I like to think I am an easy person to get along with and can make good relationships quickly. I am a well rounded character with knowledge and experience.
After conversations with my employer and seeing no real potential for progression and up skilling, i spoke to our electrical contractors who we used, i realised that this would be a career path that could lead to great things and be future proof for me. After careful considerations i decided to make the jump and get the ball rolling in gaining the necessary qualification to become fully qualified as a electrician. i have now gained some great experience and knowledge in the following:
• Installation of ring final and radial circuits
• Two-way and intermediate (three-way) lighting circuits
• Termination of Twin & Earth, PVC singles and SWA cables
• Installation and termination of metal and PVC conduit systems
• Installation of trunking and cable tray systems
• Electrical design principles and calculations
• Fault diagnosis and rectification techniques
• Inspection and testing procedures and certification requirements
I am currently funding my NVQ 3 portfolio and will go on to gain my AM2 Qualification and become fully qualified. I love the industry and want to keep gaining experience and progressing in the industry.
I joined a team of 3 including my self as a Plant engineer(full in house training and qualifications). My responsibilities are to take on all testing around the plant which includes steam boiler, cooling tower, water softener systems and glycol tanks to identify any faults and all chemical treatments are to the right levels. I also repair and replace parts for faulty diaphragm and vacuum pumps, installation of new parts for Pfaulder reactor vessels and glass stills in the plant, Keep on top of any planned preventative maintenance which can be leaking pipe work around the plant to domestic jobs in the office block, deal with contractors, keep on top of weekly and monthly checks around the plant and offices, general maintenance, complete all in house safety and chemical training, create permits for work to be carried out and general administration.
i was employed as a HVAC Technician in a team of 4 people for a small local business. We covered domestic work, industrial/commercial spaces and had a contract with The COOP, regionally in Essex. my main role was to help service, install and inspect and fault diagnose. we installed domestic wall mounted/multi split systems, Ceiling cassettes, VRF systems and some ventilation/ducting work. i found my skills to greatly improve during this time using specific tools for the trade, experiencing using different power tools, hand tools and also hot works(braising copper piping). The role also involve some basic electrical work for power to the units and to make sure this was safely done. i experienced dealing with different types of customer form domestic to big businesses and learning how things work.
A portfolio of 264 properties. Dealing with all maintenance reports, handling deposits, going on property visits, keeping up with paying contractors on time and budgeting landlords expenses, keeping gas safety, EICR and EPCs up to date, fitting new Co alarms to any properties, handling checkouts for new tenants to move in to a property. Dealing with small maintenance jobs myself (lightbulbs/loose door handles etc) and any general office administration.
I went on a paid for course to get a NVQ level 2 Qualification in Barbering. That was a 9 week intensive course that took
place in Shorditch, London. I then became a freelance Barber working for my self doing home to home haircuts. I built a social media account and got customers through that and also word of mouth. I have worked in numerous barber shops around Essex and London. Dealing with customer queries over telephone and online, through booking systems, giving advice on what I think is best for themselves or there family, building great relationships with all my customers, making them feel comfortable and to be able to trust me with such a personal thing such as hair, overseeing operations within the barbershop and making sure targets where met.
