Here is where I started my Plumbing apprenticeship, learning the basics, and a large portion of what I know today. during my time with Daniel I installed and worked on full heating systems on gas and oil boilers, carried out maintenance tasks, and touched on boiler breakdowns, as well as bathroom first and second fix installs.
This was my first proper weekend job whilst still doing my GCSE/A Levels, which I worked at on weekends only. I started off having the pot wash role, but soon made my way up to a higher role, to taking orders, serving food and cooking. During this period I gained great customer service skills, as well as being able to manage multiple tasks at once.
This job was again a weekend job, whilst doing my GCSE's in school, and used to stagger the shifts for this employer with whatever worked for the family cafe, as his hours were flexible. Here I first touched on building work, carrying out block and bricklaying, stone walling and general concrete work at a friend of a friends home, he needed this help following a tragic motorbike accident which meant he lost his left arm. The jobs included re pointing stone, and brickwork, building a retaining wall, and laying footings, and a concrete slab for a house extension. the skills I learnt here are still in use in my line of work today.
