  • I worked at Haydock Funeral service Ltd. Under the guidance of the funeral director I learned how to help families arrange funeral services for their loved ones, make them feel at ease and show the empathy and understanding that is needed at times of bereavement. I spent a lot of time talking and working with many people in different professions and learned how to communicate with people in a professional and pleasant manner. During this time, I learned valuable skills that I am able to use in the workplace and that would be useful for me in the job I am applying for.

  • To whom it may concern
  • For the last seven months Matthew has undertaken his apprenticeship here at Haydock Funeral Service, here at our Wigan office. During this time here Matthew has proved be a hard worker, resolutely punctual and a cheerful member of our team, which has been an invaluable character trait to possess in our industry. We have been particularly impressed with his manner in addressing members of the public and making them feel at ease either personally or by answering the telephone, He remains calm and self-confident, and all the team here have enjoyed working with him and getting to know him personally.
  • Unfortunately, and of no fault of Matthew’s, his apprenticeship was terminated due to a restructure of the company.
  • Matthew is a bright young man, and I am sure he will excel at whatever job he chooses to pursue in future. We will welcome him back to work for us in the future if he so chooses and would say that wherever he chooses to work in the future that he would be an asset to them
