Experienced in customer service and catering, with a strong foundation in food safety, cash handling, and menu knowledge. I am adept at managing busy periods by adapting proactively and processing orders efficiently, while maintaining high standards in drink preparation, table setting, and waste management.
I am skilled in presenting bakery goods, handling customer complaints, and building positive customer relationships. I demonstrate patience, resilience, and a commitment to high standards in both independent tasks and team-based environments.
I served customers face to face, as well as taking bookings over the phone. I supported other staff members by managing stock, assisting with cooking during busy periods, and preparing drinks for customers. In addition, I helped to clean the café’s kitchen and customer areas, ensuring they were tidy, hygienic, and safe for both customers and staff the following day.
During my time at the Nature in Art Café, I also volunteered to assist in other areas of the Nature in Art Museum. This included helping to set up displays and support events when extra help was needed. This demonstrates my willingness to support other teams outside of my immediate role when required.
I worked primarily as a pot washer during my time at the Kings Head Pub, cleaning dishes and maintaining the kitchen after closing. I also assisted with a range of other tasks, including food preparation, cooking starters, managing stock, and organising deliveries in their proper storage areas. In addition, I supported the front-of-house team when needed, which I found particularly enjoyable.
This experience helped me develop flexibility and a strong work ethic, as well as the ability to support different areas of a team when required.
My time in the cadets allowed me to develop my leadership abilities, earning the rank of Lance Corporal and taking responsibility for younger cadets during field camps, some of which involved handling weapons. Although adult staff were always present, I was trusted with significant responsibility to ensure cadets maintained high morale and worked effectively together, helping to prevent injury or conflict.
I also served as a Student Representative for my college course, working with course leaders to make improvements that benefited my peers. As a result, the following year group experienced a more refined and effective course.
Additionally, my studies at college enabled me to secure a place at Falmouth University, which offers one of the best courses in the country for my chosen subject, ranked 13th worldwide.
