Summary

Enthusiastic and passionate teacher with a hunger for learning and improving as a professional. With two years of experience as a KS2 teacher and 13 years of experience as a multi-sports coach I have been able to develop a rich and unique set of skills which have helped me to constantly improve as an educator. My work with underprivileged children in the townships of South Africa enabled me to improve my adaptability and compassion.

In my role, I communicated and collaborated with colleagues, contributing to the overall team dynamic. I have not only been able to gain experience working as part of a team but have had the opportunity to develop and showcase my leadership qualities in various roles.

I pride myself on being creative, hardworking, organized, dedicated, all while creating and maintaining a positive attitude. My communication skills have allowed me to develop strong relationships with both students and colleagues. I am passionate about enhancing my skills and making a lasting impact in all areas of education.

  • Year 3 / 4 class teacher during ECT years
  • In this role I was responsible for planning and delivering high quality lessons in a broad range of subjects
  • I Joined an established teaching team and seamlessly became part of the team
  • During this time I was always trying to improve myself as a teacher by drawing on the knowledge and experience of my colleagues
  • I was able to take the advice given by them and adapt it to suit my own style of teaching
  • My classroom approach was to create a positive learning environment where children were able to grow into more independent and inquisitive learners
  • In my second year I was appointed head of Geography
  • Responsible for overseeing the Geography curriculum for the entire school
  • I also had the opportunity to be a mentor for future a future teaching student as a pre course placement.

  • During my time in this role I was able to develop my leadership experience and skills.
  • Studying full time while maintaining this role.

  • One of the most important attributes which I was able to improve while working here was the ability to communicate effectively with both members of the public and other members of staff.

  • This role was based in one of the largest and most state-of-the-art indoor sports facilities in Europe
  • Many different events were help here ranging from national sporting events to large public celebrations.

  • The sports I was able to coach were aimed at being ones that primary school children in Ireland were unfamiliar with
  • The meant that each session was aimed at trying to introduce children to new sports while still developing their skills.
