Work history

Year 2 Class Teacher

PACE British
Sharjah, UAE
2025.04 - Current

Throughout my time at PACE British Sharjah, I have had the opportunity to work with a year 2 class consisting of pupils from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan within my class alone.

This has allowed me to work on further differentiation and more effective methods of scaffolding something that is essential within any age phase of a school.

Throughout my class, I have worked on installing high expectations and self belief within pupils to ensure that they are able to achieve to their full potential. This has involved using assessment data to tailor individual learning to the needs of each pupil.

Within my current role, it has provided me with the experience of working in a fee paying school for the first time. Within these environments, scrutiny from parents is of a more intense nature which has led to a further adaptation and development of my communication with parents to ensure they are aware of their child's wider school progression along with, the steps we are taking in school to further assist. Venturing into key stage one for the first time has also allowed me to explore phonics for the first time although, this is something I would like to continue to develop my understanding in, so I can implement this across any age phase if necessary.

Supply teacher

Education World
County Durham, Durham
01.2025 - Current
  • Throughout the course of my time on supply, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of different key stages which has allowed me to develop my confidence as an educator.
  • While on supply I have also further developed my knowledge and confidence in special educational needs consistently working in a SEN school throughout my time on supply. The wide range of ages and needs within the school has allowed me to develop a greater understanding of the challenges that pupils with social and educational needs face.
  • I have also had the opportunity to go back to my final placement school on supply for a longer period of time. This has allowed me to develop my communication skills with pupils, staff and parents. This has included the following:
  • Covered other teachers' classes during their absences, ensuring continuity in education delivery.
  • Reported on student progress regularly to parents and senior staff members.
  • Collaborated effectively with colleagues for curriculum planning and execution.
  • Carried out duties outside of classroom such as playground supervision or assembly organisation.
  • Demonstrated professionalism whilst interacting with students, staff and parents alike.

Golf Coach

Golf Fore All
Middlesbrough, NYK
05.2023 - 08.2023

Within this role, I visited a number of primary schools with a wide range of social challenges and had the opportunity to coach golf to classes across key stage one and key stage two.

Having the opportunity to coach different classes on a daily basis showed me the importance of quickly setting high expectations to ensure consistent behaviour from all pupils and the importance of modelling to ensure that pupils' are aware of the correct behaviours and the expectations for the task.

Throughout my job, the main aspects of my role were:

  • Ensuring safe practice environment, complying with all health and safety regulations.
  • Promoting good sportsmanship and respect towards other players whilst maintaining discipline on the field.
  • Teaching fundamental golfing techniques to beginners, establishing strong foundation in the sport.
  • Adapting teaching methods according to varying needs of diverse age groups from children to seniors.
