I am a dedicated Year 11 student at Chesterton Community College and I'm looking to apply for a motor vehicle apprenticeship or a full time course as a backup plan. My passion for cars and enjoyment of problem solving have led me towards this.
Although I'm dedicated to getting strong GCSEs, I prefer hands on practical learning environments. My preference for practical learning is why I've opted for a apprenticeship or course in motor vehicle.
Outside of school I've gained mechanical skills by working on bicycles. I've disassembled and reassembled bikes for various reasons, giving me skills in troubleshooting and repair. My enjoyment of this hobby has led to me buying and fixing used bicycles to resell, showing my entrepreneurial mindset and practical skills. This is further shown by one of my subjects which I've chosen being enterprise where I have learned many skills needed to be an entrepreneur.
Though bicycles are not nearly as complex as cars, this experience has shown me my passion for repairing and maintaining. I'm confident that this, combined with passion for cars, will make me a successful student and future mechanic.
After completing my apprenticeship or course, I'm aiming to secure a position in the automotive industry and enjoying being a mechanic for many years to come.
I feel with my experience in tyre pressure checks, battery inspection and replacement, break replacement & spark plug replacement, I am an ideal candidate for an apprenticeship.
I Possess some knowledge of brake systems and have great familiarity with garage tools, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. I believe I am a resourceful thinker with strong problem-solving and communication skills, thriving under pressure and in team environments. Competent in IT operations and systems, aiming to leverage technical skills to enhance operational efficiency.
