The position entails the following

• Staffing complement management according to acuity
• Drug audits
• documentation audits
• medication dispensation from the emergency cupboard
• bed allocation to new patients according to infection control guidelines
• QIP management
• clinical advice to staff and escalation of clinical problems to treating doctors
• complaints management
• staff planning for the following shift amongst other responsibilities

• Ensured patient safety - prevention and management of falls

- prevent cross infection

- adequate provision of staff according to acuity

- maintain equipment

• Education - promote a learning environment for both students and staff

- avail staff for in-service training and motivate attendance thereof

• clinical expertise - Through HR practices and recruitment, find the most qualified and

knowledgeable staff

- arrange CPD points trainings for staff in co-ordination with

clinical facilitators

- arrange Doctor demonstrations and lectures at unit level

• Staff management - Draft off duties

- Manage absenteeism through HR guidelines

- prevent staff burnout

• financial management - ensure excellent levels of stock management

- staff according to company acuity guidelines

• Client services - pro actively manage potential conflicts or complains with clients

- effectively manage complaints to client satisfaction

• compile reports on all indicators of the unit and make it available for management to see, I.e.; Audits, QIPs, Clabsi, Patient falls, complaints, Mortality and stock losses and gains amongst other things
