Supervise the technical processes for the Smelter

• Manage process technologies for the Smelter
• Ensure quality of technology processes
• Investigate process-related incidents and accidents and provide input and support into technical resolutions
• Collect, collate, analyse, summarise, and archive technical information and materials information
• Compile and submit work reports and summaries timeously
• Remain aware of economic indicators (energy consumption, copper recovery etc.) for Smelter production/operations
  

Ensure Technical Innovation and continuous improvement of technical processes for the Smelter

• Conduct scientific research to test and develop technical processes to enhance quality of outputs
• Create/Collect and publish patents, papers and IP for the Smelter
• Create new process procedures, guidelines and regulations for implementation and training purposes
• Participate in the review of technical transformation solutions, apply for and participate in the review of technical transformation results
  

Arrange and support Technical meetings and Technical process training

• Organize and attend meetings of relevant business topics
• Review internal and external management systems and compile technical files of relevant areas.
• In conjunction with the Training department, give input into training materials for technical processes training
• Support the implementation of technical processes training sessions

• Assist operations personnel to implement agreed guidelines, rules and recipe for the processing plant
• Audit compliance to ‘’recipe’’ and liaise with plant personnel
• Provide/liaise with external resources to conduct agreed plant surveys/audit processes
• Manage metallurgical talent assigned to technical function in processing area
• Recommend technical corrective action to operation production personnel
• Advise process operating personnel on reagent and grinding media selection
• Facilitate technology transfer from centre
• Review concentrator measurement data to proactively identify problems.
