- Replacing/Repairing pipelines, boiler tubes, valves, boiler wall panels inside and around the boiler on the Unit 2 outage.
- Maintaining pipework around site.
- Working on preparing the carbon capture project.
- Working to high standards from isometric drawings alongside inspectors and surveyors.
- Emergent repairs on main steam lines and boiler tubes.
- Installing Boiler tubes, Heat shields and honeycombs.
- Installation of new CMV system.
- making stabbings and drains running off the CMV into other sections of pipelines.
- Emergent Repairs on Superheated steam lines.
- Installation and dismantling pipework on the Main steam.
- Working on various pipework around the plant, Mainly cutting out sections and installing butterfly and ball valves.
- The removal and replacement of the economiser.
- Grinding headers and branches in the top dead space for inspection, replacing sections of the header that failed inspection.
- Assisting tradesmen with their tasks : cutting, cleaning and prepping pipes for them, marking out, supporting and setting up pipework for installation, making up material lists in correspondence with the drawings.
- Established a good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace.
-Attending courses, completing exams and phase tests to progress my knowledge in the trade as much as possible.
- Expanding my knowledge by networking and shadowing other tradesmen.
(COVID hit just before i was supposed to be on site so the apprenticeship was on hold with furlough).

- Helping tradesmen with their tasks.
- Learning basic pipefitting skills : reading & interpreting isometric and orthographic drawings, measuring and marking out techniques, use of hand and power tools, being trained on tacking and prepping. Getting a basic understanding of health & Safety on site.
